Terra d'Alter is in the Alto Alentejo region in the south of Portugal, where the history of wine growing dates back to Roman times. The vineyards are full of broken Roman terracotta!
This extensive history, and a focus which remains largely on native Portuguese varietals, is combined with the New World expertise of dynamic and enterprising winemaker Peter Bright, an Australian making wine in Portugal since 1982. He is the original flying winemaker.
